It’s nearly time! The long awaited book on our club history written by Graeme and Eachainn Miller will be launched on Friday 8th December! #CmonTheWaySo after a long wait, the Carloway FC book ‘Ninety Years On: The Story of Carloway Football Club 1933 to 2023’ will be launched on Friday 8th December 2023. The Club’s ninety years have not been straight-forward but have been marked by passion, commitment and, occasionally, madness. The football years have involved tales of heartbreak and glory as well as the story of how Scottish football legend Ronnie Mackinnon ended up playing for the club before and after his professional career with Rangers and Scotland.Father and son team Graeme and Eachainn Miller from the village of Garenin started writing a history of Carloway Football Club in 2018 as a labour of love for the club they both played for and became obsessed with. ‘Ninety Years On’ tells the story of 'a moderately successful' football club and the book will be able to be bought online from this page as well as from the Carloway FC website and facebook page.It will also be available from Carloway Community Shop or at one of the following four special book launch events which will be attended by co-writer Graeme ‘Windy’ Miller along with Carloway FC committee members and players, young and old.Friday 8th December, 2pm to 4pm at Uig Community ShopFriday 8th December, 6.30pm to late at the Club’s 90th Anniversary Dinner Dance, Breasclete Community Centre Saturday 9th December, 1pm to 4pm, Carloway Community CentreSaturday 9th December, 5pm to 7pm, Rangers Supporters Club, Stornoway Mon the Way! ...
