Donald ‘Beag’ Mackay made history for Carloway last night when he came on as a substitute in our Eilean An Fhraoich victory over Lochs. At the age of 59 years 9 months and 10 days he came on to become the oldest player ever to play a competitive match in Lewis And Harris. A club legend who made 185 appearances as a player and also managed ‘The Blues’. His determination to keep himself fit should be an inspiration to us all! He’s certainly not lost his touch either!
If you’re ever driving from Carloway to Shawbost you’ll no doubt come across ‘Beag’ running along the road quite often sporting the Carloway colours.
