Following the end of the season, Peter ‘Dokus’ MacDonald and Andy ‘VP’ MacLeod unfortunately informed the club that they’ll be stepping down from the management team. The club are extremely grateful for the hard work and commitment they showed the club in their year in charge. There’s no doubt that Carloway FC had a successful season in 2025 under the direction of Peter, Andy and ‘Windy’. Winning the Jock Stein Cup early in the season, some excellent league form in the earlier stages and a fantastic Highland Amateur Cup run all the way to the semi final, narrowly missing out on a cup final place.

With two club legends departing, two others are taking on the management roles. Stepping up as manager is our current defensive enforcer, Domhnall Mackay. A player that’s known throughout the Highlands as a tough tackling, ball playing centre back and very much an immovable object if he’s between you and the ball! Over 500 games for Carloway over the years and an impressive 58 goals (If all those missed penalties went in he might have made it into the 100 club). Domhnall has plenty managerial experience having assisted a number times over the years including the WIIGA squad at this years Island Games. He was also a successful junior manager with Western Thistle.

Domhnall will take on the role as manager and will be assisted by another club legend making his long awaited return to Carloway, Murdo ‘Squegg’ Macleod. Murdo brings a wealth of experience, playing over 300 games for ‘The Way’. Also a well known face in Island football, the cool, calm and collected midfielder was a major cog in the Carloway team over years particularly in the 2013 ‘InvinciBlues’ league winning team.

They will both be assisted by Graeme ‘Windy’ Miller who needs no introduction. A true Carloway FC legend, and published author! Carloway FC’s most successful manager. He assisted Peter and Andy last season and continues his role as assistant.
