We had a fantastic night in Breasclete at our annual End Of Season Prizegiving on Saturday 15th November. Many thanks to Breasclete Community Association for the incredible meal provided and the use of the wonderful facilities at Breasclete Community Centre! We presented awards to three former and current players in recognition of the incredible milestone of 500 appearances for Carloway FC – Gordon Craigie, Kenny ‘Dokus’ MacDonald and Domhnall Mackay
Also presented with an award for his 300th appearance this season was DI MacLennan
David Beaton was also presented with a gift from the club following his retirement after an incredible 15 years with Carloway FC. A true club legend who showed great commitment to Carloway over the years.
Club legend, former manager and current assistant manager Graeme ‘Windy’ Miller presented three awards to three very special women who continually help the club in the background. Every event and function these women go above and beyond to help out, organise, clean up for which the club and committee are extremely grateful – Fiona ‘Toni’ MacLean, Flora ‘Dalmore’ MacLeod and Liz Cox.
A new trophy was presented to the Under-21 Player Of The Year. The Craigie family donated this trophy in memory of James ‘Jimmy’ Craigie. A former player, manager and committee member of Carloway FC. He was a real driving force in the resurrection of the club in the 70s and always kept up with the goings on at the club. We are extremely grateful to the Craigie family for the donation of this beautiful trophy and look forward to presenting this trophy to the under 21 player of the year each year.
